The Chaparral 298RLS is one of our favorites because it’s so lightweight, weighing in at only 9575 (dry weight) — if you need to factor a tow vehicle into your budget, this will help you out.
Storage options and features abound, including an entertainment center, backup camera, USB charging ports, 8-cubic-foot refrigerator, 30-inch microwave, 21-inch oven, dual pane windows, and oversized under bed storage. While the MSRP of the 2018 version is $55,584, most dealers are offering discounts on the 2018 versions since the 2019 model has been released.
2. Heartland Sundance S5 302BH

The Sundance S5 302BH is a new floorplan that offers a bunkhouse, outside kitchen, walk-in pantry, power awning, plenty of storage, and exterior speakers. It’s ideal for larger families with sleeping space for up to eight people. The Sundance 302BH also has two private sleeping areas — a master bedroom up front and the bunk room in back and a tri-fold sofa for friends who want to come along. A full bath and half bath mean that no one will be arguing over bathroom time. You’ll have plenty of options for cooking as well, since an exterior camp kitchen gives you two extra burners for cooking. Clean-up is easy with the single sink outside and double sink inside.

You have five floor plans to choose from, ranging from 33 to 40 feet, and we recommend the CR3391RL. This version features triple slides, a rear living layout, a king bed in the master, and a residential refrigerator, slide-out dinette, great storage options, plus a convenient kitchen island that includes a double sink. Couples will appreciate the romantic fireplace in the entertainment center.
At 10,518 dry weight, this fifth wheel is a bit heavier than the others we recommend, but it’s still not excessively heavy, making it easy enough to haul. You can find the 2019 for just under $50,000, and you can reduce your spend if you locate a 2018 version.
